Week 5 I have successfully found an apprenticeship to attend alternatively to college and have completed a phone interview with a company I have signed up to that is going to be helping me get the apprenticeship called 3aaa apprenticeships to see if I am worth their time. I have received feedback from them saying that I am qualified for the placement in the apprenticeship and so am going to advance onto a face-to-face interview with 3aaa. Along with finding some work experience at Wilkos warehouse on their website and applied for it so I am now waiting for a response from them. Having both an apprenticeship and work experience applied for means I have a backup plan if I do not get the apprenticeship and I'm turned down however I will make sure that I will get this apprenticeship.

Week 4 I have recently called the apprenticeship that failed to get back to me about my application and unfortunately the apprenticeship has been filled in and so I will just have to continue studying at college instead of moving to an apprenticeship. I have also been contacted by all of the jobs I have applied for (Wilkinson's, Pound world, Tesco, Game) and all of them have unfortunately been filled in already and so I haven't had the chance to even have an interview with one. And so because of this I have been looking for more jobs in my area and I have had no luck in finding one yet, however I will continue to look for a job and will hopefully get an interview with one. I have also continued to look for apprenticeships that I could attend alternatively to college however I have had not found any in my area yet either and so I will keep looking.

Week 3 I have recently been contacted by one of the apprenticeships I have applied for and unfortunately the place has been filled and so they have notified me that if anything else does come up in the future they will contact as soon as possible. The other apprenticeship however has not got back to me yet and I still await a response, however I am starting tot think they have already found someone else. To confirm that they aren't available I am going to ring they and ask about my application for the apprenticeship next week so I can still give them the rest of this week to respond themselves. I have also took it upon myself to start thinking of a backup plan if the apprenticeship route is not going to go well for when I leave college and so I have also started looking at Universities that might interest me and have found one university that I think fits that interest. Nottingham Trent University has an animation course that has caught my attention as it seems like something I...

Week 2 Recently I have been relieved of my job at Domino's Pizza as my probationary period has ended and I was deemed not ready enough for how busy Christmas will be there. Therefore I am currently unemployed however I have been looking for jobs using a website called indeed.com and have already begun applying for jobs. I have currently applied for four different jobs at Wilkinson's, Game, PoundWorld and Tesco Supermarket. I think staying employed is definitely important for my future as it will make me more comfortable in a working environment and some jobs may even count as work experience for computing depending on what I do. Along side looking at jobs, I have also been looking at apprenticeships for computing and have found two apprenticeships that I'm quite interested in. One apprenticeship is for computing all-round and is quite similar to the topics I am learning at college. Whereas the other apprenticeship mainly focuses on cyber security which is something tha...

Week 1 I have recently attended EGX with college and have took time to visit the ambassadors for some of the Universities that are welcoming people to become students for computing courses. These were mainly high-performance graphics and game engineering courses and I am interested in doing cyber security and animation courses and so I asked them if they had any University courses involving these. One University ambassador representing the University of Leeds explained to me that the courses they were showcasing were only ones involved in the game industry and so I decided to look into in anyway as I could want to go into something like this with some persuasion. EGX also offered presentations by the world's best game designers however I did not listen to these presentations for long as there were other things I wanted to look at. Because the Universities at EGX only offered games design courses I researched animation and cyber security courses at home and found one that caught ...
